Usually, gaining the best performance requires waiting for the "Next Big Version" (0.7). However, that is not the case this time.

We are backporting Iroh and other improvements to Holochain 0.6.1, which means you don't have to wait for 0.7 to become stable to feel the difference.

Yesterday, Nicolas referred to "Iroh FTW." So, what does that actually mean? 🧐

Iroh is the new p2p networking protocol we are integrating to manage firewall hole-punching for direct connections. It serves as the engine powering the "It Just Works" experience in the latest Holochain 0.7 dev versions and the upcoming Holochain 0.6.1 release.
