The plot is set - hundreds of billions of Hong Kong dollars are locked in a wallet with a 12-word mnemonic phrase, so I tried it out, the 10th and 12th words are not in the standard library
It’s obviously to prevent fans from actually restoring and committing fraud (the kind of scam where there is a balance on Tron but cannot be transferred is quite common lately)
But interestingly, the movie says it’s just missing the last word and doesn’t know... However, according to the BIP39 mnemonic standard, the word bank has only 2048 words, brute-forcing the last word only requires going through 2048 times, just a few minutes (not to mention there are only a few words starting with ES)
So, is the screenwriter deliberately planting a clue, or do they not really understand Web3? 😂
PS: Highly recommended, I feel it’s Jackie Chan’s best in nearly a decade, definitely worth a watch!
