I have obtained tokens before they reached exchanges and saw them skyrocket personally. However, you have to be careful because not all airdrops are real airdrops. Scammers will frequently use them for personal information gathering, or to trick users to pay “gas fees” to obtain a worthless token.
My method is to follow legit platforms, Telegram groups, or Twitter accounts that do their due diligence on projects. Always check to see if the project has a team, whitepaper, roadmap and an active community. Never, ever share your private keys, or send. funds to obtain an airdrop. That's a big red flag.
While obtaining free tokens can sound exciting, there is no guarantee you will have free money. Some airdrops may be trash; or lead to profit over the long run. It is a numbers game, but be diligent. The crypto space is full of opportunities, but buyer beware. Stay vigilant and skeptical! And remember to always do your own research (DYOR)!
