Yesterday, BREV launched. As the first spot listing on Binance for 2026, and with the market showing signs of recovery, I believed it had a high chance of a strong move. After thorough due diligence, the project looked solid, so I kept a close eye on it when it went live on Binance Alpha at 8 PM last night.
I bought it on spot after it went live, after a brief selling pressure, the chart started rising to 0.436, I went all-in with 900,000 RMB at 1x leverage, but right after buying, it started dropping all the way down to 0.37, and my loss reached 20,000 U. If it were before, I would definitely have held on, but now I'm not sure if my mindset has changed or if I'm just more disciplined—I just cut my losses.
Right after I cut my loss, it rebounded immediately. I opened a 2x long position at 0.3835, with profits reaching nearly 15,000 U, almost covering my previous loss. I was thinking of holding on, but the market quickly reversed. I reduced my position by 25% at cost basis to secure a safer liquidation price. It was already very late, and with the hope of its listing on the Korean exchange, I fell asleep holding it.
In the early hours around 4 AM, I woke up multiple times. The price had dropped to as low as 0.32, and this trade’s loss had climbed to over 20,000 U. After that, I kept drifting in and out of sleep. Fortunately, my liquidation price was safe, so I just kept holding.
Around 8-9 AM, it experienced a rapid rebound, peaking at 0.372—just a small gap from my cost line. As I was full of hope that it would keep rising, five 1-minute candles quickly brought it back down to around 0.33, the starting point. This sharp drop broke my mental barrier. I forgot about waiting for the Korean exchange announcement; all I could think about was the fear of continuing to lose money.
The most dramatic moment arrived when, within one minute after I closed my position at 0.335, Twitter's post announced its listing on the Korean exchange. I swear it was less than a minute, and at that moment, my spirit completely shattered. I felt like a total loser, blaming myself for such terrible luck! I was hysterical, wanting to slap myself hard.
It seems like this has been happening ever since the Lunar New Year. On New Year's Day, the 714 incident—had I not stayed up so late, had I not seen the news of its surge in the WeChat group, if… there are no more 'ifs.' The damage is done. From my peak of 1.2 million at the end of last year, my account now has just over 600,000—cut in half in just 7 days.
I no longer have the energy to engage in short-term trading. I feel completely broken. I know I can't keep going. Doubt and unwillingness will only destroy my remaining funds. I’m going to lay low now. I opened a 1.5x long position on LDO with my remaining capital, waiting for the approval of the Ethereum ETF in Q1. I’ll hold long-term, no longer checking my account. Either LDO rises to 1.2 U, or the news comes out—I’ll close the position then.
After calming down, I realized my breakdown wasn't just about losing money—it was the uncanny coincidence that made me feel targeted. I surrendered. I gave up. I decided to stop caring. If I end up losing everything anyway, I accept it—I deserve it.
