GOAT BitVM2 extends this model by adding zero-knowledge proofs to verify Layer 2 state transitions, such as bundled off-chain transactions, while using Bitcoin as the final settlement and enforcement layer. It follows an optimistic rollup design, where activity is treated as valid by default unless fraud is proven, with Bitcoin’s base layer handling dispute resolution and penalties. The BitVM2 Bridge is a live implementation of the BitVM2 protocol that allows users to move assets across chains and participate in native Bitcoin yield opportunities. It’s open for anyone to use, and as we all know the BITVM2 testnet is live.
Below is a step-by-step guide, along with a video tutorial, showing how to navigate the newly designed BitVM2 system by #GoatNetwork .
Bridge In (BTC → EVM)
Step 1
🔸Connect both your BTC wallet and your EVM wallet (on the attached video i will be using Unisat wallet and meta mask wallet).
🔸Enter the amount you want to bridge.
Choose your preferred Bitcoin network fee rate higher fees usually mean faster processing.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2
🔸Wait while committee members validate the transaction.
🔸Use Refresh to check progress.
When the transaction becomes available, click Submit.
Finalizing
🔸Approve the transaction in your wallet and pay the base network fee.
🔸Funds typically arrive in about 60 minutes, though timing may vary depending on Bitcoin network congestion.
You can monitor progress in the History section.
Once confirmed, the bridged funds will show in your receiving wallet.
Bridge Out (EVM → BTC)
🔸Connect your EVM wallet and BTC wallet as usual.
🔸Enter the amount you wish to bridge out, ensuring it meets the minimum requirement.
🔸Carefully review all cross-chain details: amount, exchange rate, and bridge fee.
🔸Submit the transaction within the allowed time window by clicking Submit.
Finalizing
🔸Confirm the transaction in your wallet and pay the required gas fee.
🔸Funds generally arrive in about 60 minutes, depending on Bitcoin network traffic.
Track the status in History.
After confirmation, the funds will appear in your destination wallet.
