What Is Nomina (NOM)?
$NOM is the native token of Nomina, a project that originated from Omni Network (OMNI), an early provider of on-chain infrastructure. Omni initially developed the SolverNet SDK, which was adopted by teams building cross-chain developer tools.
$NOM is an ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum and functions as the core asset of Nomina, retaining the use cases outlined in the original Omni Network roadmap. It is designed to anchor advanced trading automation, facilitate use cases across exchanges, and act as primary support for the Nomina EVM.
Nomina was co-founded by Austin King and Tyler Tarsi. Austin King, the CEO, is a Harvard-trained computer scientist and entrepreneur who previously sold his first company to Ripple, where he co-authored a payment protocol and led market strategy. Tyler Tarsi, the CTO, is a Harvard graduate with backgrounds in applied mathematics, computer science, and economics. Before Nomina, he worked on machine learning systems and quantitative trading algorithms at financial institutions and hedge funds like JPMorgan and Barclays.
OMNI to NOM Token Swap
In 2025, the project Omni Network rebranded to Nomina to expand its scope beyond developer infrastructure and focus on offering traders advanced trading tools and automation that could rival hedge funds. As part of this transition, $NOM was introduced as a redenominated token from $OMNI at a 1:75 ratio. OMNI will soon be delisted from Binance and other crypto exchanges to make way for the full rollout of NOM, which now powers staking, governance, and cross-rollup activity on the network.
In addition, the team has indicated plans to allocate $NOM toward community initiatives, including funding product development. In September 2025, an early version of Nomina’s trading terminal was released to select testers through an exclusive access program. Its current iteration integrates perpetual trading across multiple decentralized exchanges, with further plans to deliver a broader suite of strategy features.
The circulating supply of $NOM token is 2.9 billion, with a total supply of 7.5 billion tokens.
