FT reports that Tether has accumulated 116 tonnes of gold, placing it on the level of several national reserves.
Its quarterly activity accounted for about 2% of global demand and around 12% of central bank buying.
Tokenized gold is the key: supply of XAUt nearly doubled as reserves grew by 275,000 ounces.
