I’m working as merchant navy since December 2013, so I have completed my first contract and came back home 🇺🇦 from my first ship in beg of July 2014.
I have a cousin who have been already familiar with #BTC at that time and we were spending a lot of time together.I came back from my trip with a good money in my pocket and had around 8-9k$. The summer in Odesa was hot and nice so I was partying in nightclubs,restaurants and so on quite frequently.
My cousin sees this and he start telling me “Bro, invest at least 1000$ in Bitcoin and forget about it for next 5 years”. I did not fully understand what is this and consider that is completely scam so I didn’t. For your info if we are going back to BTC chart history in July 2014 it was worth ~525$ and price was bearish as it keeps falling. So in the best case scenario I could have bought almost or around 2 BTC but I didn’t.🤷‍♂️
So the next time I have heard about BTC in summer 2017 when Bitcoin was in bull market and my friend just told me that BTC reaches 3000$ but I was keep skeptic and still consider it a scam.
The next BTC story I heard from same friend and he was telling to me that “Imagine bitcoin price reaches 13000$ “ it was back in December 2017 that time I already considered that it will be 0$ and could not rise more.
This was my first time hearing about Bitcoin but I never consider it different than just a scam or financial ponzi scheme.
Finally when I was working in 🇳🇬 company in 2021 the guys keep asking me if I’m in crypto, cause almost all nigerians onboard were doing crypto, and start asking my colleagues how to trade,invest sell and etc. Especially I became interested when one of lowest rank guy onboard had made per one day profit of 1700$ on crypto when his monthly salary been around 1300$. #cryptotalks #lifestory

Crypto Journey Part 6 🎯 | Airdrops, Farming & the Alpha Shift

My airdrop and farming journey truly kicked off in January 2024.

I dove deep into different strategies — watching, reading, experimenting. I engaged with multiple projects, mainly hoping to earn airdrops just by staking.

🔹 On Stride, I began liquid staking $TIA and farming it — this was my first taste of passive income from DeFi.

By summer, I received a few small airdrops in the Cosmos ecosystem for staking $ATOM — but they were disappointing. That’s when I started thinking:

“Maybe #CosmosIsDead.”

So, I shifted my focus toward ecosystems with stronger momentum — Ethereum, Solana, and Sui.

I also started exploring retrodrops — engaging early with promising blockchains, bridges, and protocols like:
• Optimism
• Sui
• Hyperlane

🎁 Then the airdrops started to land:
• $OP Season Airdrop – $144 ✅
• $SCR – ~$100 ✅
• Layer3 – $70 from questing and farming Cubes ✅
• $WAL – $490 ✅
• $HYPER – $330 ✅
• Another $60 from Layer3 shortly after ✅

By this time, I had completely exited Cosmos — I unstaked and sold everything.

Parallel to that, the coins I had invested in earlier were also rising in value, making this one of my most profitable and consistent periods in crypto.

Right now, my focus is on farming Binance Alpha Points — because I believe the upcoming airdrops through Binance’s new system are way more efficient and rewarding than grinding testnets for 190+ days just to get a $20 airdrop (or worse… like $ZORA — I got $1–2, not even worth remembering 😅).

Crypto Journey Part 5 🌊 | From Loss to Cosmos

By June 2023, I had just returned from another contract and moved to Ireland 🇮🇪.
At that point, my portfolio was worth around $11,000.

I was no longer a rookie —
🎓 Took crypto courses
📚 Learned Smart Money concepts
🦈 Understood different strategies
I felt like a shark in the ocean — confident and sharp.

I stored most of my major holdings on a Ledger Nano X for extra security.

But then… disaster hit.

📍 While in Dublin, I lost my Ledger, my phone, and my notebooks — including seed phrases for multiple wallets.

It was brutal.

Especially when I watched $SUI hit $4, knowing a chunk of mine was locked, inaccessible without the Ledger.
I still had access to the wallets — but couldn’t move funds.
That felt like a gross loss, and it crushed my motivation.

I stopped all crypto activity until October 2023.

Then, while working again, I made a fresh deposit of $1,000, bought a few coins, and the market started recovering fast.
Some coins gave me 300% gains, and I was back in the game. 🔥

📆 On January 2, 2024, I returned home and made a shift in focus:

🧭 I started airdrop hunting.

I dove into the Cosmos($ATOM )ecosystem — learning how to:
✅ Stake for airdrops
✅ Provide liquidity on DeFi platforms like Stride
✅ Participate in early-stage testnets
✅ Farm native tokens

Throughout early 2024, I became deeply focused on airdrops, staking, and ecosystem farming within Cosmos.
It wasn’t just trading anymore — it was strategic participation.
