DuskEVM: Where Dusk dApps Actually Run
On Dusk, most applications don’t “live on the chain” in a monolithic sense; they run on DuskEVM. It’s fully EVM-compatible, so Solidity and standard tooling behave as expected, while outcomes settle on DuskDS, the layer handling data availability and finality. Under the hood, DuskEVM follows the OP Stack pattern and uses EIP-4844 style blobs, stored by DuskDS rather than Ethereum. For now it inherits a seven-day finalization window, a pragmatic compromise as the network matures. That split lets teams ship credible products today, then progressively shorten settlement as upgrades land, without forcing a new mental model or rewriting proven audits.
