MSCI Temporarily Not Excluding Strategy, But Refuses to Provide Passive Fund Support for Its Share Issuance
According to PANews, MSCI announced it will temporarily not exclude Bitcoin treasury company Strategy, but hidden clauses have raised concerns. MSCI will not increase the number of shares of Strategy, meaning newly issued shares through ATM will not be included in index weighting. This means that even if Strategy issues more shares, passive funds will not follow by buying, breaking the funding cycle that relies on issuing new shares to purchase Bitcoin.
