Midnight (NIGHT) attracted a very high trading volume in December. Many investors expect the price uptrend to continue.
Even though the price has corrected by about 30% from the recent peak, several factors lead traders to believe that NIGHT could still increase.
Why do investors believe that Coinbase and Binance will list NIGHT soon?
Binance Alpha supports Midnight (NIGHT) through the distribution of its airdrop. CoinMarketCap data shows that over 61% of the trading volume of NIGHT comes from Binance Alpha.
Consequently, investors believe that the official listing of NIGHT on Binance's spot is only a matter of time.
Furthermore, some investors also expect Coinbase to list NIGHT. The main reason is the strong increase in trading volume of NIGHT in recent weeks.
Coingecko data shows that, since its initial listing on December 9, when the volume was only 130 million dollars, the spot trading volume of NIGHT exceeded 5 billion dollars by December 23. This volume level even surpassed the combined trading volume of SOL, XRP, and BNB.
Typically, tokens distributed via airdrop record a high volume shortly after listing due to selling pressure. NIGHT, on the other hand, shows an opposite trend, as accumulation by investors has strengthened over time.
"Reason #1 why Coinbase should list $NIGHT: extremely high trading volume. NIGHT has recorded billions in daily volume since its launch. Recently, it entered the global top 10 with over 3 billion dollars in trades in 24 hours on major exchanges. Institutional and retail interest in privacy technology is growing significantly," said investor Josh.
When an exchange lists a high-volume altcoin, it benefits from the fees generated by trading that asset. Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, estimates that Coinbase could lose around 20 million dollars a year in trading fees by not listing NIGHT.
With a market capitalization exceeding 1.4 billion dollars, NIGHT currently ranks among the top 75 cryptocurrencies. Investors anticipate that listings on major exchanges could push NIGHT into the top 20, which would imply a market capitalization around 10 billion dollars.
Despite the price recently correcting from a peak of 0.11 dollars to 0.07 dollars, analysts believe this movement still represents a healthy pullback before the next rally.
Additionally, Midnight is planning a series of promotional events in Japan for the first two months of 2026. These events could attract even more retail investors to NIGHT.
However, from another point of view, much of this optimism may already be priced into NIGHT. Consequently, new listings may not push the quotes further but instead offer liquidity to early investors for profit-taking.
