Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's message on the occasion of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates
"It is an honor for me to extend heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates.
The bilateral brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates are rooted in historical ties of mutual goodwill, which are a source of pride for both countries. The relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates are built on strong foundations of shared religious and cultural values and unwavering mutual trust.
These foundations were laid under the wise and visionary leadership of the great leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and have since been steadfastly continued under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Prime Minister of the Emirates and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In the future, our two countries will remain committed to achieving common goals of peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.
Pakistan views its strong and brotherly relations with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates with great value. In this regard, Pakistanis residing in the United Arab Emirates are undoubtedly playing a positive role in strengthening the friendship between the two countries!

This day is being celebrated under the theme "Overcoming Barriers and Changing Attitudes Towards AIDS". It is essential to change public response and attitudes towards this disease. In this context, ensuring the provision of treatment, adopting modern facilities, and enhancing mutual cooperation at the societal level can change public response to this disease by reaching all segments of society. Priority actions for the elimination of AIDS include ensuring access to treatment for at-risk populations, eliminating gender discrimination, preventing parent-to-child transmission of HIV in children, providing safe blood for patients, and reducing the spread among drug users. Only through collective national and political commitment, inter-sectoral cooperation, and shared responsibility can Pakistan overcome the current barriers and accelerate progress towards the elimination of AIDS. On World AIDS Day, let us renew our commitment that no social, societal, economic, or administrative barrier will stand in the way of our fight against this disease, and together we will make our strategy against AIDS comprehensive and more effective."
