#Bitok What would happen if Bitcoin remained in CPU mining mode and retained the complete codebase from the Satoshi era? Without adding any new features, injecting any ideology, or attempting to 'fix' Bitcoin according to modern tastes. The Bitcoin v0.3.19 released in 2010 was the last version directly participated in by Satoshi. Everything after that has become history, not destiny.
I have been conducting an experiment using the original v0.3.19 codebase. The rules and behaviors are the same as before. The only significant change is: a mining algorithm has been adopted that is difficult for GPU and ASIC to easily outperform. All critical security fixes have been in place from the beginning. Only necessary adjustments were made to allow it to run on modern operating systems and **resist GPU mining**. The main change is replacing the SHA-256 algorithm with the Yespower algorithm for proof of work. The Yespower algorithm has high memory requirements, so the advantages of GPUs are not apparent. Anyone with a laptop can mine. I believe this is how Bitcoin was originally meant to be.
