November 19, 2025, #AztecNetwork launched Ignition Chain — a privacy-focused L2 solution. The developers claim that it is the first fully decentralized second-layer blockchain built around its own consensus mechanism that uses #ZK -proofs.

The launch took place a week after the start of the token sale for Aztec ($AZTEC), which is used for staking and project governance.

The team announced the deployment on the mainnet and noted that the queue of validators for Ignition Chain reached 500. This allowed the network to begin block production and transition from the testing phase to full operation.
