The Ethereum Foundation launches dAI Team — a bridge between blockchain and artificial intelligence

The Ethereum Foundation officially launches a permanent team, dAI Team, which will focus on integrating artificial intelligence into the Ethereum ecosystem. The goal is to transform the network from a financial layer into an infrastructure for AI agents capable of interacting, learning, and performing tasks on the blockchain.

"AI is the next wave, and it must be decentralized." Ethereum wants to avoid the monopoly of OpenAI, Google, and Amazon by creating an open AI infrastructure.

dAI Team will work with crypto developers and Silicon Valley giants to make Ethereum the foundational layer for the AI economy. Negotiations and research are already underway — partners will be announced later.

Ethereum sees AI as the "new DeFi" — first grassroots, then institutional adoption. This is not just integration; it is a rethinking of the network's purpose.

The team will be led by Davide Krapis, Ethereum core developer.
The focus is on the ERC-8004 standard: a protocol for AI agents to interact within the network.
The standard presentation will take place at Devconnect in Buenos Aires in November 2025.
