#WhoIsNextFedChair The question “Who is the next Fed Chair?” has become a major global talking point as Jerome Powell’s term ends in May 2026. The Federal Reserve Chair is one of the most powerful economic positions in the world, controlling U.S. interest rates, liquidity, inflation response, and from stocks and bonds to crypto and commodities. The Donald Trump back in the White House, the decision carries even more weight. Trump has repeatedly criticized Powell for keeping interest rates high and slowing economic growth. As a result, markets expect the next Fed Chair to be more aligned with Trump’s preference for lower rates and faster growth. Leading Candidates : Several names are dominating discussions in financial and political circles: Kevin Warsh A former Federal Reserve governor, Warsh is widely seen as the front-runner. He has strong central banking experience. Kevin Hassett A long-time Trump economic adviser and current White House official. Hassett is closely aligned with Trump’s economic vision and is considered politically loyal. Christopher Waller A current Fed governor with strong technical credentials. He is respected by economists ,less politically aligned with Trump, which may reduce his chances. Michelle Bowman The Fed’s Vice Chair for Supervision.
