#ILOVETRUMP NEW YORK, Feb 3 - Entities behind President Donald Trump’s crypto coin have accumulated close to $100 million in trading fees in less than two weeks, according to estimates from three blockchain analysis firms, a large windfall from a venture that has seen tens of thousands of small traders lose money.
The meme coin, known as $Trump, was launched by the president on Jan. 17 and quickly surged, reaching a peak of over $14.5 billion in overall market value by Jan. 19, the day before his inauguration. It has since slumped by two-thirds.

#ILOVETRUMP Trump Digital Coin, officially known as $TRUMP , is a meme cryptocurrency launched by President Donald Trump on January 17, 2025, just days before his inauguration. Hosted on the Solana blockchain, it was introduced with an initial coin offering (ICO) of 200 million tokens, while an additional 800 million tokens are retained by Trump-affiliated entities.

Upon its release, $TRUMP experienced a rapid surge in value, reaching a peak market capitalization exceeding $14.5 billion by January 19, 2025. However, this initial spike was followed by significant volatility, with the token's value decreasing by two-thirds shortly after its peak. As of March 24, 2025, $TRUMP is trading at approximately $11.91.

#ILOVETRUMP U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held its first cryptocurrency roundtable on March 21, 2025, marking a milestone in the regulation of digital assets. The event brought together legal experts, former officials, and industry representatives to discuss regulatory approaches that balance innovation and investor protection.
During the session, Miles Jennings, general counsel of a16z Crypto, criticized the SEC's previous strategy, stating that it failed to protect investors or foster efficient markets. Jennings emphasized the need for a more effective regulatory approach that supports the sector's sustainable growth.
